It is a vertically oriented, tin litho, thermometer with a yellow background, and brown and red lettering and logos. These type of signs were and especially popular form of advertising from the 1920's-1950's because the functionality of the thermometer made it more likely that business would keep them up longer. During this era was also when soda fountains and soda shops were at the height of their popularity in the United States. Mason's Root Beer is an American brand of root beer that was first produced in 1947. While the brand still exists today, it has not been widely distributed since 1986 when Mason's parent company, Monarch Beverage, acquire the more commercially popular Dad's Root Beer brand.
