This is a reproduction Stanavo round sign for "aviation engine oil". It is a recreation of an iconic sign from the 1930's. While we usually only sell original vintage advertising, occasionally we fine a high quality reproduction such as this metal gas pump plate. It is a great sign for the beginning collector. Furthermore, if you are doing a home restoration of a vintage gas pump, this sign would be ideal for use as the belly plate. If you are looking for something that is original from its era, we currently have hundreds for sale at ArtFactory.com. This includes a wide variety of genuine porcelain enamel and tin litho signs from the early and mid-twentieth century. We also have an ever growing collection of vintage signs featuring fully rebuilt neon. It is perfect for your man cave or game room, and is a great starter item if an original is outside of your budget. Stanavo Aviation Oil Company History And Amelia Earhart

The Stanavo Specification Company was a subsidiary of Standard Oil and sold through an affiliate, Humble Oil and Refining Company (which later became Exxon). Stanavo soon became known as the Humbles international aviation gasoline and oil. Stanavo was popular in the early era of flight, and Amelia Earhart served as a spokesperson for the brand during the 1930s. Thus, Stanavo items are particularly collectible because of the brand's connection with Amelia Earhart, the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. In the years before World War II, Standard and Humble operated over 30 various aircraft, including the Lockheed Electra Juniors and Lockheed Vegas.

About The Mancave.ArtFactory.com Collectibles Bone Yard

In our Bone Yard, you will fine original unrestored vintage gas pumps, vending machines, modern retro items, and anything else that doesn't meet our regular world class investment quality standards. We generally don't deal in parts, but on the occasion that we have them for sale you will find those in the Bone Yard as well. We often buy entire collections, and sometimes in these collections are items that have collectible value, but don't quite merit a museum quality restoration. For example, items that are post 1970 will often be found in the Bone Yard. If you are looking for hard to find parts, or a fully restored pump is not quite in your budget, then have a look in our vintage Americana and petroliana bone yard.
