History and Origin
Founded in 1899 by Charles “Cheers” Wakefield, Castrol became a leader in specialty motor oils for early internal combustion engines. Its bright red-and-green branding became globally recognized through advertising, race sponsorships, and illuminated service-station signage across Europe and North America.
This sign has been fully and authentically restored by H.J. Nick of ArtFactory.com, whose signature appears on a solid brass certification plate permanently affixed to the back housing.
