Vintage Dr Pepper Neon Sign: Original Condition, Restored Neon
This original vintage Dr Pepper neon sign is just one of hundreds of soda shop collectibles currently for sale from ArtFactory.com. This large, single sided, lipped tin litho sign measures 40 inches wide by 30 inches tall, and is on a 4 inch deep metal can (Total Weight 45 Pounds). It reads "Drink Dr Pepper" and has a mostly white background. The word "Drink" in small red lettering, and "Dr Pepper" in large white lettering with a red oval behind in the style of the logo that is on the cans and bottles. There is an Art Deco style "V" accent below the Dr Pepper logo. The sign lights up in red neon around the border of the sign, and around the border of the logo. The lettering "Dr Pepper" and the "V" accent light up in white neon, as pictured. It is an authentic advertisement that was originally displayed at soda shops and drug stores in the 1950's, and was made in the U.S.A., and it is dated as having been manufactured in October of 1956 in the lower, right corner of the sign. Like all of our collectible signs, this rare, vintage Dr Pepper neon sign is sold in original, unrestored condition, as pictured. We do not believe in restoring old signs because it is our belief that every ding, dent, and blemish is part of the story and history of the item. This sign, is in Excellent/Very Good (Exl/VG) condition overall with a number of small blemishes throughout the sign face, including some very small chips, dings, and scratches. There are however not any significant areas of damage, and it is an extremely clean example of this now, nearly 70-year-old sign.
