Innovative "Slant-Face" Engineering

What sets this piece apart from typical vintage signage is its intentional, commercial slant-face construction. Designed specifically to be mounted high on exterior or interior walls, the face angles downward toward the viewer. Restored under the direct oversight of master builder H.J. Nick at ArtFactory.com, the sign seamlessly balances modern reliability with historical authenticity. The restoration process outfitted the piece with a newly fabricated custom steel housing, brand-new electrical components, and hand-formed, era-correct neon tubing — vibrant green outlining the numeral 7, crisp white illuminating the “UP,” and rich red framing the outer border. Crucially, the original porcelain advertising face was preserved in its authentic state, retaining the honest, age-related patina and minor surface marks that tell the story of its 60-year commercial journey.
