Neon De Soto Plymouth Sign: Vintage Automobile Dealership Advertising
This vintage, double sided split porcelain neon De Soto Plymouth sign is an original from the late 1930's. It is a round split sign that is mounted to the wall from a flange so that both sides are visible. This is a working neon sign with a genuine porcelain enamel sign face. This sign was used by dealerships authorized to service Plymouth and De Soto automobiles in the 1930's-1940's. This vintage neon sign an example of iconic automobile signage from "The Golden Age" of the American open road. It measures 6 feet wide including the 5 foot diameter sign, and 12 inch flange that it is mounted on. It is 5 feet tall, and the flange is 6 inches deep. The sign has a blue flange, and the outer edges of the sign, and the background behind the word "SERVICE" is also blue. The word "AUTHORIZED" is in small blue lettering, and there is also a decorative blue trapezoid in the area of the sign below the word "SERVICE", that along with the edges of the blue box light up in blue neon, against a white background. The words "DE SOTO, PLYMOUTH, & SERVICE" are all in white lettering, and lights up with white neon, as well as around the edges of the sign. There is a red background behind the words "DE SOTO & PLYMOUTH". Like all of our collectible signs, it is sold in original, unrestored condition as pictured. We do not believe in restoring old signs because it is our belief that every ding, dent, and blemish is part of the story and history of the item. However, all neon, SOLID STATE TRANSFORMERS, wiring, mounts, and electrical parts have been fully rebuilt or replaced by our experts. The neon features a separate on/off toggle pull cord as pictured.

Plymouth was a brand of automobiles produced by Chrysler Corporation and its successor DaimlerChrysler.
