Vintage Borden's Neon Sign: Original Ad Featuring Elsie The Cow

This rare vintage Borden's Neon sign is a single sided, porcelain sign from the 1940's. This collection centerpiece sized sign is a die cut shape sign is 72 1/2 inches (6 Feet) wide by 44 inches tall (107 Pounds). The sign is half circle shaped with a die cut Elsie the Cow peaking over the top of the sign. The word "Bordens" is in white lettering against a navy blue background. The are white and red stripes at the outer edge of the half circle area and the Elsie the Cow character is in full color. The outer edge of the half circle area of the sign lights up in red and white neon, and the border of Elise the Cow lights up in yellow neon. It will add a statement to your man cave, lady lounge, or restaurant. This sign won't last long, as they are becoming more popular as the years go by, and fewer folks are letting these signs leave their collections.

Like all of our collectible signs, this rare, vintage Borden's Neon sign is sold in original, unrestored condition, as pictured. We do not believe in restoring old signs because it is our belief that every ding, dent, and blemish is part of the story and history of the item. This vintage Borden's neon sign certainly shows its age with its fair share of dings and dents that are mostly smaller to medium size and predominantly are near the edges of the sign and also some scuffing at the top. However, it is still a very high quality example of this sign, and is in Very Good (VG) condition overall, thus making it as clean of an example of this now, nearly 80-year-old sign as you will generally find available anywhere on the market.

As stated, the porcelain sign itself is in fully original condition, however, all neon and electrical components have been fully rebuilt or replaced as part of our 101 point, museum quality neon restoration. This restoration is done under the supervision of, certified, and signed by award winning artist H.J. Nick as meeting all world class fine art qualifications. This certification means each item bearing his signature is backed by over 100 years of manufacturing world class fine art handmade furnishings, and restoring America's finest collectibles to original, museum quality condition. All neon is rebuilt by our in house glass blowers, who have blown new glass and bent it by hand, using the same techniques and materials that were used for the original neon.
