Vintage Garage Neon Clock: 101 Point Neon And Electrical Restoration
This original, Cleveland vintage garage neon clock is just one of hundreds of collectible automobilia and petroliana collectibles currently for sale from ArtFactory.com. This large, single sided, fiber glass clock measures 32 inches in diameter, and is on a 7 inch deep heave metal can. The round clock has a white background with blue numbers and time interval dots, black hour and minute hands, and a red second hand. There is a collar style banner advertisement around the upper half of the clock the reads "GARAGE" in large lettering in the center. The word "GARAGE" lights up in orange neon, and the area behind it, as well as around the edges of the clock light up orange. The word "SALES" is to the left, and "SERVICE" to the right in smaller lettering. These words light up in electric green neon, and the area behind these words also lights up electric green. This clock was originally displayed at service stations in the 1950's, and was made in the U.S.A.. Like all of our collectible signs, it is sold in original, unrestored condition as pictured. We do not believe in restoring old signs because it is our belief that every ding, dent, and blemish is part of the story and history of the item. However, all electrical elements and neon have been fully rebuilt by our experts with solid state transformers, and an on/off pull chord as pictured.

Electric Neon Clock Company History
(The following information has been excerpted from the website Electric Neon Clock Company History).
The Founder: Mannie E. Winger, founder of The Electric Neon Clock Company, was born in Presov, Austria-Hungary in 1899 (current country of Slovakia, formerly known as Czechoslovakia). He came to America at about the age of 5, and after the eighth grade he had to go to work and self taught himself from then on.
The "Cleveland" name: The Electric Neon Clock Co. was never known as "Cleveland Clocks" while the company was in business. That is a current fabrication, probably due to the long, and rather generic, company name. This is similar to why some people in the industry refer to Neon Products clocks as "Lima" clocks.
