Cadillac Service Neon Sign: Rare Vintage Dealership Automobilia
This original Cadillac Service neon sign is just one of hundreds of collectible automobilia and petroliana collectibles currently for sale from ArtFactory.com. This single sided, round shaped, cardboard litho, window sign, measures 24 inches in diameter, and is 6 inches deep including the original plastic housing in the back (7 Pound Total Weight). It is an original Cadillac dealership advertisement, and from its size, was the type of sign that would have been displayed in the showroom window. Due to the style of the Cadillac logo in the center, this sign was manufactured between 1953 and 1956. The Cadillac Service neon sign has a blue background and the word "Cadillac" in white lettering at the top, and the word "Service" in white lettering at the bottom, with the word "Authorized" in smaller white lettering just above the word "Service". There is a large white/red/yellow/black Cadillac Crown logo in the center of the sign. It lights up in white neon around the border of the sign and the lettering of the words "Cadillac" and "Service", as pictured. It lights up in yellow neon around the border of the Cadillac logo.
Like all of our collectible signs, this vintage Cadillac Service neon sign is sold in original, unrestored condition as pictured. We do not believe in restoring old signs because it is our belief that every ding, dent, and blemish is part of the story and history of the item. Often times, the only exception will be a 101 point, museum quality neon and electrical restoration, which is done under the supervision of award winning artist H.J. Nick. However, once in awhile we are able to find a sign such as this Cadillac Service neon sign that is in what is called "SURVIVOR CONDITION", meaning fully original, including original working neon and electrical. These "SURVIVOR CONDITION" items are by far the rarest, most valuable, and most highly collector coveted. In other words, this Cadillac Service neon sign is a truly rare find in this condition, and to top it all off, is a one-of-a-kind item that was displayed in a Cadillac dealership for many years, beginning in the mid-1950's.
