Chevy Bowtie Neon Sign: Rare Vintage Collectible Automobilia
This original Chevy Bowtie neon sign is just one of hundreds of collectible automobilia and petroliana collectibles currently for sale from ArtFactory.com. This large, double sided, 2 piece, rectangular shaped, aluminum litho sign, and it measures 60 inches wide by 48 inches tall, and is 8 inches deep including the heavy metal housing can. It is an original Chevy dealership, showroom advertisement from the mid-Twentieth Century. The original paint on the sign is extremely faded but has a navy blue background and white letting and logos. The sign lights up around the border in yellow neon, around the bowtie with orange neon, and around the border of the word "CHEVY" in blue neon. To top it all off, this Chevy Bowtie neon sign features a separate on/off toggle pull cord, as pictured, so the sign can easily be turned on and off without unplugging. This Chevy Bowtie neon sign is in Very Good/Good (VG/G) condition overall. The sign itself doesn't have a lot of dings and dents, but the original paint is EXTREMELY FADED evenly throughout the entire sign face, as it was likely displayed outdoors in the sun for many years.

Restoring damage to vintage metal signs is frowned upon in the collector community because there is simply no way to repair this type of damage that is consistent with the standards of a museum quality restoration.
