Hudson Terraplane Neon Sign: "Authorized Service" Vintage

This vintage Hudson Terraplane neon sign is an original porcelain enamel, dealership service sign, from the 1930's. It is a single sided, working neon sign with a porcelain sign face, and is in excellent condition for a sign of its age. The sign has a white background with a blue pinstripe just inside the outer border. It has red letting with a blue outline that reads "Hudson Terraplane Authorized Service" and features inverted blue triangle logo in the middle. The neon lights up in green around the border of the sign, and with red around the border of the lettering, and blue neon around the edges of the triangle logo. These signs were used by Hudson Dealerships as a storefront advertisement for their car lots to passersby on the road. This vintage neon sign an example of historic automobile signage from "The Golden Age" of the American open road. It is perfect for display in any man cave, game room, or automotive business. This iconic sign is of collection centerpiece size, it is round in shape, measuring 43 inches in diameter, and is on a 6 inch deep heavy metal electrical housing can. This vintage neon Hudson Terraplane sign is a true American icon, and piece of automotive history.

Like all of our collectible signs, this vintage Hudson Terraplane neon sign is sold in original, unrestored condition as pictured. We do not believe in restoring old signs because it is our belief that every ding, dent, and blemish is part of the story and history of the item (a belief that is consistent with the majority of the collector community). The only exception being the 101 point, museum quality neon restoration, which is done under the supervision of, certified, and signed by award winning artist H.J. Nick as meeting all world class fine are qualifications. All neon restored by our in house glass blowers, who have blown new glass using the same techniques and materials that were used for the original neon. Also, any electrical parts including wiring and solid state transformers have been replaced. The neon features a separate on/off toggle pull cord as pictured.
