This hard to find, extra large Phillips badge sign is among the most famous icons of the "Golden Age Of The Open Road", and one of the most collected petroliana signs. This sign is considered to be a must have for any serious petroliana collection, and they are becoming extremely hard to find because it is one of those items that every collection must have, and once acquired they are rarely resold. Furthermore, this is not one of the more common, small, single sided, gas pump belly plate signs, but the largest main storefront hanging sign (measuring 5 feet 9 inches tall by 4 feet wide at its largest points, and is 6 inches thick). In other words, this is THE SIGN that serious collectors are after. This features the collector coveted 1930-1959 era black on orange color scheme, which is far more sought after than the newer and more common red and white. This sign lights up in orange neon around the border of the sign, and around the edges of the number "66". The word "PHILLIPS" lights up in white neon. Above the badge is a separate rectangular metal can with the word "OPEN" that flashes green neon. This is a 101 point neon and electrical restoration sign by award winning artist H.J. Nick, and all neon, SOLID STATE TRANSFORMERS, wiring, mounts, and electrical parts have been fully rebuilt or replaced by our experts.
