This Packard Motor Cars thermometer sign features a white single sided enamel Packard Motor Cars thermometer sign in a rectangular shape with a royal blue background. It is printed with the wording "Packard Motor Cars" in white lettering along the top, with the slogan "Ask the Man Who Owns One" in white lettering in the upside-down triangle of yellow floral design, and a 1920s-30s Packard graphic on the lower portion of the sign. The wording "Made in U.S.A." on the bottom of the temperature reading. This highly collectible Packard Motor Cars sign has not been restored, and is sold in original, as-is condition from ArtFactory.com. We sell all vintage signs in unrestored condition because we believe, as do most collectors, that any blemishes are part of a sign's history.

Packard Motor Car Company: Automobile Manufacture History
Packard Motor Car Company was founded in 1899 by brothers James Ward Packard and William Doud Packard and their partner George L. Weiss in Detroit, Michigan. This American luxury automobile manufacturing company produced vehicles until 1958. Packard was always an automotive innovator being the first to manufacture the modern steering wheel, the first production 12-cylinder engine, and air-conditioning. The Packard was a highly competitive vehicle in high-priced luxury American cars, and was part of the "Three P's" of American motor royalty, the others being Peeless of Cleveland, Ohio and Pierce-Arrow of Buffalo, New York from the company's inception throughout the 1930s and beyond. The 1950s brought about the "Big Three" - Ford, Chrysler, and General Motors - which dominated the automobile market including Packard's luxury area, and by 1958 the Packard line was discontinued with the last model, a Packard Hawk, the last Packard car produced by Studebaker-Packard Corporation.
