This is an original restored Fry Model 117 visible gas pump. Nicknamed "Mae West", it is among the most collected old gas pumps. This one has been restored with an original Sinclair mail glass globe, and authentic, period correct signage. This ten gallon visible gas pump antique is colored in the Sinclair colors on white and green, fully restored to museum and collector's standards. Circa 1920s, this old gas pump from Guarantee Liquid Measure Company features the patented Fry visible accurate measuring mechanism with the up and down working measuring tube, measuring stop control handle, 10-gallon glass cylinder, and price placard.

This vintage Sinclair gas pump features an original milk glass Sinclair globe light. The original milk glass globe (17" x 6") features two 13 1/2" Sinclair Dino milk glass inserts. This Sinclair Gasoline Dino gas pump globe and belly plate, circa 1930s, have the green outline on a white background, the word "DINO" in green, the "Sinclair Gasoline" wording in red, and a Dino brontosaurus logo in green. Fry Model 117 Visible Gas Pump:

Guaranteed Liquid Measure Visible Pump used throughout the early 1920s, was often referred to as the Fry Visible Gas Pump. The most popular models of the Fry Visible Pump, named after the company founder, were the Fry Model 117 and Fry Model 17. These vintage gas pumps, with their hourglass shape, were nicknamed after the curvaceous actress of that era "Mae West". The "visible" gas pumps allowed customers to view the color and quality of the gasoline through the transparent glass fuel tank.

About Sinclair Oil Company:

Founded by Harry F. Sinclair in 1916, Sinclair Oil Corporation is an American petroleum company. They survived the Great Depression by selling their oil pipeline subsidiary to Standard Oil and issuing common stock. This influx of cash allowed Sinclair to save other gas companies and expand their operations.
