Vintage sign for Shurtleff's Ice Cream from the Shurtleff Company founded in 1878 in Janesville, Wisconsin known for selling only cream based products. Shurtleff was sold in 1969 to Schoep Ice Cream of Madison, Wisconsin. This vintage sign was manufactured by Brown & Bigelow of St. Paul, Minnesota. Founded in 1896 by Hirm Brown and Herbert Bigelow, the company specialized in promotional advertising products, and by the 1940s they were the largest calendar printers in America. Today Brown and Bigelow continue to provide promotional products to businesses.
