Chevrolet Dealership Neon Sign: Original 1948, One-Of-A-Kind

This original Chevrolet dealership neon sign is a One-Of-A-Kind item, and was originally displayed on the front of the Chevrolet Dealership in Wilmington, North Carolina. This sign was manufactured in 1948, and hung on the dealership building from then, all the way up until 2022, at which point it was removed from the then abandoned old building. It was found in non-working, and in disrepair condition at the point when it was removed from the building. However, our in-house restoration experts have brought this sign back to all of its original, working glory, with a 101 point restoration to world class fine art, and museum quality collectible condition. In other words, this sign was been restored to the exact condition and specifications, as it would have shipped from Walker & Company in 1948. We have based this restoration on photos of this actual sign, as displayed on the dealership building in 1955 (see photos above). This extra large, double sided sign, is a 3-dimensional rectangular pylon shape that sits on a shelf, and is heavy metal (tin) measuring 13 feet tall by 40 inches at its widest point, and is 18 inches thick with electrical components and transformers housed inside.  This sign is navy blue with white lettering and the shelf and back bracket areas are black. The word "CHEVROLET" lights up in white neon, and the shelf area and behind the sign light up in yellow neon.
