James Wilson founded William M. Wilson's Sons in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1819. Originally, the company specialized in painting, glazing, and wholesale distribution as James was a trained painter and glazer. In the early 1920s, they added petrol-dispensing equipment to their offerings and in 1928 they manufactured their first gas pump - called the Gasboy. In the early 1930s, they developed the first combination gasoline tank and pump for farms and have continued to grow from there. In 1986, they officially changed the company name to Gasboy International because of the worldwide brand recognition of their Gasboy brand.
