Description

Vintage Mack Trucks Sign: Original 1950's Built To Outlast Them All

The sign was made in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where the company moved its headquarters in 1905. Their mascot, the English Bulldog, was first associated with Mack Trucks during World War I when British soldiers nicknamed the Mack AC model the “Bulldog.” Mack officially adopted the bulldog as its corporate symbol in the 1920s.

By the 1950s, Mack was producing gasoline and diesel trucks, buses, and fire apparatus. The slogan “Built to outlast them all”  is directly related to the bulldog mascot and the famous phrase "Built like a Mack truck," both of which originated from the company's reputation for ruggedness and reliability.
