Vintage Mona Motor Oil Sign: Original Collectible Petroliana Signage
This is an original, vintage Mona Motor Oil sign from the 1920s manufactured by the Monarch axle grease company. This antique sign for service stations is a single sided porcelain sign featuring a dark red background outlined in black, with a center white diamond outlined in black. The wording "MONA MOTOR" is located along the center in black with a white outline, with the word "OIL" underneath, and the wording "SEARLE PROCESS" in white outlined black above. The bottom of the sign reads "BEST BECAUSE PUREST" in white along the bottom black banner. In the lower left corned above the black band reads the wording "100% PARAFFINE BASE" and "TUNE IN K-O-I-L" along the lower right corner, all in white. The KIOL on this antique sign advertises the radio station started in 1925 by the E.P. Searle's Monarch Mfg. Co.
