Vintage Essolube Porcelain Sign: Original Collectible Petroliana Advertising
This is an original, 51 1/2 inch wide by 11 inches tall, vintage Essolube porcelain sign. It is a thick, heavy single sided strip sign that was used as advertising at gas stations and auto repair shops. This is an original sign, and is not dated, but based on the style of lettering, our research has determined this sign to be from the mid-1930's, and was manufactured in the U.S.A.. It has a white background with blue lettering. Like all of our signs, it is in original, unrestored condition, and as can be see in the pictures this sign shows wear especially in the lower left and top right edges. There is also a handful of small dings and dents, but overall is in very good condition for a sign that is approaching 90-years-old. We believe in keeping signs in unrestored condition, because these blemishes are part of the history and story of the item.
