This is an original Firestone neon strip sign that measures 5 feet tall by 11 inches wide sing on a 5 inch deep metal can. It is a thick, heavy, genuine vintage tine litho sign, and is a single sided sign that was used as advertising at gas stations and auto repair shops. This is an original sign, and is dated 9-50 (September 1950) and made in the U.S.A. by M.C.A. (Massillon-Cleveland-Akron Sign Co). It has a primarily navy blue background with orange lettering, and white hanging wings on each side that have a red pinstripe just inside the outer edges, and 3 hanging holes on each side. Like all of our signs, it is in original, unrestored condition, and as can be see in the pictures this sign shows minor wear and age as pictured. However, it is in overall excellent condition for a sign that is over 70-years-old. We believe in keeping signs in unrestored condition, because these blemishes are part of the history and story of the item. However, all neon, SOLID STATE TRANSFORMERS, wiring, mounts, and electrical parts have been fully rebuilt or replaced by our experts. The neon features a separate on/off toggle pull cord as pictured.
