The American Model 2487 Gas Pump Is Highly Collector Coveted Due To Its Unique Octagon Shape

This vintage Texaco visible gas pump is a fully restored American Oil & Tank Co. Model #2487, hand operated, 10 gallon pump from the 1920's. This American Oil model 2487, Texaco visible gas pump has undergone a 101 point, museum quality restoration, to original working condition, which is done under the supervision of, certified, and signed by award winning artist H.J. Nick as meeting all world class fine are qualifications. This certification means each item bearing his signature is backed by over 100 years of manufacturing world class fine art handmade furnishings, and restoring America's finest collectibles to original, museum quality condition.

This vintage Texaco gas pump features an original, clear glass 10 gallon tank, as pictured. These pumps were manufactured beginning in the late 1920's, through the early 1930's. However, due to the fact that this company went out of business prior to World War 2, there are no exact records of what dates these pumps were made. The American Oil Pump & Tank Co.'s Model 2487 gas pump is one of the most highly collected models of visible pump due to its octagonal shaped body. The body of the pump is galvanized metal and has been painted Texaco Red to match the belly plate and globe. The glass gas tank includes original measuring sticks, and a price placard. It also features a switch to dispense gas directly into a car, or into a container for storage. The pump was originally manufactured by Cincinnati, Ohio, and includes original manufacture model number plates.
