This rare, Mr. Peanut neon sign is an original, genuine porcelain advertisement that was used at retailers and concession stands in the 1940's. The classic tin litho sign is 32 inches wide by 11 inches tall, and is on a 5 inches deep metal can. It is a horizontally oriented, rectangular shaped sign with a primarily yellow background with navy blue border, and navy blue, white, and red, lettering and graphics. There is a graphic of Mr. Peanut on the left side of the sign. The top area of the sign reads "Planters Nut Department" in navy blue lettering, and below it reads "Mr. Peanut Suggests Planters Today", with the words "Suggests and Today" in red lettering, and the rest of the words in navy blue lettering, and a navy blue accent below the words. The sign lights up in yellow neon around the lettering of the word "Planters", and white neon around the border of the lettering for the words "Nut Department", and also around the border around these three words.
